Hey guys. Lately I've been thinking about this decision for a preetty long time and I feel like now is the right time to say it.
I'll probably be quitting Boss Any% and probably ILs (i am for sure not quitting ILs rn), I think I did well for my run on boss any%, but there's a lot of things that's been going on. And I will explain why I'll be quitting.
Scratchy's 3:57. Without a doubt, Scratchy is an amazing player and a great person. But the moment I opened those forums and saw 3:57.4 I think (idk i forgot the time) that was kind of the moment I realized that boss is done, for a while at least. There is probably going to be no more discoveries with boss as he's already been heavily optimized these past 5 months I think. Speaking of optimization:
The run is just, too optimized for my liking. Boss Any% is just now reset hell on freezy breeze and kcc or just dying to boss and I really don't like it. I used to enjoy Boss because it was like quite unoptimized and he genuinely had so many fun tricks to offer. Now that sub 4 is a thing, that was the moment where I just started to get more frustrated and bored than actually enjoy the category. I don't have like 1000+ resets on boss without a reason.
I think those are probably the two main reasons why I will be quitting Boss and most full game categories. What I'll do is that I'll probably practice Mike ILs every so or often, and maybe a boss IL or two every month or so just to see if I can find any sort of optimization to make boss easier. Mike is also optimized, but atleast I have 4th place on Mike instead of having the WR nonstop for like 2 months on boss any%. Thanks for reading this, thank you all for being supportive and genuinely being one of the best communities I've been in. I'll still be in the forums, and I'll continue to be in contact with everyone. Thanks!
The greatest player to ever play Mike. From your humble beginnings as a Mike Maker runner, to your quest for sub 2:10 in Mike World, and your domination in Mike and Boss, you have cemented yourself as one of the most legendary scratch speedrunners of all time. When I first saw Maxy find Meem jump and submitted my first Mike Any% pb, I looked on in awe at how good your world record was. (I was mostly shocked at how good you were at boss and how I sucked at it lol) You have stayed in the Mike community for a year and a half, playing almost nonstop and being the best at it. You will never be forgotten. Have a nice fricking vacation e1
